25 and 30 Year Certificates- PROBUS Membership

President Ivan James presented 25 and 30 year certificates of Membership to long serving members at a morning tea held at Peace Haven. Thirty six members and their partners attended the function on 28 July to honour John Gerrard on his retirement and recognise  Don Fraser, Stan Merry,Des Kerrison and Jim Thompson with 25 and 30 years membership certificates:

Fine Dining - Velo Winery 2 Sept 2015

Unfortunately our plans to dine at the Rivers Edge Cafe were thwarted when we learnt that the Resturant was closing on 31st August.

Members had suggested Velo Winery at Legana so a booking has been secured for 30+ on Wednesday 2 September, 12.30 for 1pm luncheon. The cost for the two course/choice meal has been set at $58/head.

FINE DINING IN AUGUST 2015

Arrangements are being made for a 'Fine Dinning Experience' at The Rivers Edge cafe, Tannery Rd, Longford in August 2015.

A return to the Red Feather Inn is scheduled for this summer.

Details of Menu, date in August will be posted soon.

Fine Dining at The Red Feather Inn 14 April 15

Wow!! what a fine dining silver service experience was had today at the Red Feather Inn. This was our 5th and most successful gathering yet with 26 in attendance. The three course menu with choices for each course was prepared by chef Lewis and he did not disappoint. The attention to detail and service by four waitress's was second to none attending to our every need.

Although the day had a distinctive chill of a winters day we all settled into the Inn comfortably and enjoyed great food...

New President inducted

The AGM for the year 2014-15 saw the induction of Ivan James as the Launceston Probus Club President for the year 2015-16. New members were elected unopposed to the committee including Dr Tom Dunning ( Secretary), Brian Wickens ( Vice President & President Elect), Peter Anderson ( Assistant Secretary) with all other positions unchanged.

WALKS

The schedule walk is planned for Tuesday 3 March. Meet at the Hoblers Bridge car park for a pleasant flat walk along the North Esk towards Henry Street. Dogs welcomed.

The next walk is scheduled for 31 March. 10 am start meeting in First Basin car park.... a stroll in the Cataract Gorge.

FINE DINING IN 2015

2014 proved to be a stop/go for fine dining experiences. However, we managed to finally settle on Josef Chromy's Restaurant at Relbia. It was a lack lustre luncheon not dissimilar to Hallam's which were both  a little disappointing.

This year I will be selecting with your approval at least three dining experiences. My choices so far include:-
