2014 proved to be a stop/go for fine dining experiences. However, we managed to finally settle on Josef Chromy's Restaurant at Relbia. It was a lack lustre luncheon not dissimilar to Hallam's which were both a little disappointing.
This year I will be selecting with your approval at least three dining experiences. My choices so far include:-
The Me Wah which offers a high quality dining experience with a flexible menu and service second to none.
The Red Feather Inn, a truly interesting option but may require a confirmed party of at least 15 to secure a fine dining experience. Also this may have to be an evening meal and would of course include partners which lends itself to a winter experience. I will be making enquiries .
The Black Cow Bistro, renown for its steak and sharing the same pedigree as the acclaimed Stillwater. A possibility of in town dining with good parking opposite.
The Rosevears Waterfront Tavern, offering a unique waterfront dining experience 20 minutes north of Launceston on the Tamar River. Good parking.
Another option will be to explore a breakfast experience combined with a walk with Chris Cohen. I will be proposing a breakfast at ' Velo' a vineyard at Legana which can be combined with a walk to Middle/Pig Island to work off an egg and bacon experience. The breakfast is only offered on a Sunday....so food for thought....see menu by going to http:/www./velowines.com.au
The other alternative for a mid week breakfast could be a small group visiting Cucina Simpatica on the corner of Margaret and Frederick Streets opposite the Brickfields. However there are plenty of suitable venues within the Launceston CBD to explore such options.
The Food Master
We will discuss at the January meeting.
